Date with confidence.
Zera is built to keep you safe, and a few simple habits make every first date safer.
How Zera protects you
Built in, from day one.
- Photo verification. Members verify with a live selfie, so the person you meet looks like their photos. Look for the verified badge.
- Get to know them first. Voice and video answers let you hear and see someone before you meet.
- Your number stays private. Phone numbers are only shared on the day of a date, and only if you both choose to.
- A safety check-in after every date. Zera checks that you got home safely.
- Real people review reports. Report anyone from their profile or your chat. A real person looks at every report.
Before and during your date
Simple habits that keep you safe.
- Meet somewhere public. A café, restaurant or busy park. Never at home for a first date.
- Tell a friend. Share where you’re going and who you’re meeting. Zera can create a link with the details for a friend.
- Get yourself there and back. Drive yourself or use a rideshare, so you can leave whenever you want.
- Stay in control. Keep an eye on your drink and your belongings, and go easy on alcohol.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, it’s fine to leave. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
Red flags
Report it if someone…
- Asks for money, gift cards, crypto or help with an “emergency.” Never send money to someone you met online.
- Pushes to move the chat off Zera right away, or won’t do a voice or video answer.
- Pressures you to meet somewhere private, or to share your address.
- Is disrespectful, sexual or threatening in any way.
Zera is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
